PPPoE Authentication

Setting up PPPoE on Mac OS X

To Set up PPPoE on Mac OS X:

  1. Inside the Apple menu, choose System Preferences.



  2. Click on the Network icon.



  3. Click on the TCP/IP tab.
  4. Click the Configure drop down list and select Built in Ethernet.



  5. Click on the PPPoE tab.
  6. Check the box next to Connect using PPPoE.
  7. In the Service Provider field, type Speed Factory.
  8. In the PPPoE Service Name field, type DSL.
  9. In the Account Name field, type your User name using the format "username@atl.speedfactory.net".
    Note: Your domain may be "atl.speedfactory.net" or "atla.speedfactory.net" please refer to your confirmation email for more details.
  10. In the Password field, type your password.
  11. Check the box next to Save Password.
  12. Click the PPPoE Options button.



  13. Check the box next to Connect automatically when starting TCP/IP applications.
  14. Uncheck the Prompt to stay connected if idle for "" minutes.
  15. Uncheck the box next to Disconnected if idle for "" minutes.
  16. Check the box next to Disconnect when user logs out.
  17. Click the OK button.



  18. Click on the TCP/IP tab.



  19. Click the arrow box on the Configure drop down list and choose Using PPP.
  20. Leave the box entitled Search Domains empty.
  21. Under 'Domain Name Servers' type 66.23.208.138, then hit enter and type 66.23.208.142
  22. Click Save button.
  23. Close the Network window.
